What Does a Dog Daycare Trial Actually Tell Us?

1 min read

A daycare trial isn't an audition for Britain's Got Talent. Your dog doesn't have to burst through the gate and immediately charm the entire paddock.

We're looking at how a dog communicates, responds to other dogs, handles the environment, takes breaks, recovers from excitement and responds to the humans around them.

Some dogs show us loads on day one. Others need time before their real personality appears. That's why a trial gives us useful information, but it isn't a crystal ball.

A dog can also be lovely and still not enjoy daycare. Suitability is about welfare and fit, not whether a dog is 'good' or 'bad'.

Our job is to decide whether Canine Collective looks like somewhere that dog can genuinely be comfortable and have a good time.
