THE QUICK SNIFF - September at Canine Collective
THE QUICK SNIFF
Spring is here, the grass is growing, the dogs are making new mates and there’s quite a bit going on behind the scenes. So, before somebody throws another ball…
New friends everywhere
Canine Collective is growing, and we’ve welcomed quite a few new dogs lately. That means new faces, new friendships and different personalities learning how to play together. And, of course, picking up a few new habits from each other. You’re welcome.
Trust the process
The Nature Area is coming along nicely. Are we showing you the whole thing yet? Nope. The dogs have started heading down there to sniff, explore and make themselves at home, so you’ll probably spot little bits sneaking into our photos and videos. Consider them spoilers. The grand reveal will come when Louise finally stops adding things. So… eventually.
Little Legends are coming
Our dedicated puppy area is slowly coming together, giving the younger kids somewhere to learn the ropes, build confidence and practise their doggy manners. Think puppy preschool. Just with considerably more wee. More soon.
A quick word about collars
We’ve been doing a bit of homework around collar safety at daycare. During group play there is a small risk of a collar getting caught on another dog, which can potentially cause injury. We’re not banning collars. What your dog wears is up to you — normal collar, harness, or harness with no collar. We simply want owners to know there is a risk so they can make the choice that feels right for their dog. Breakaway safety collars are another option designed to release under sufficient pressure.
We now have a website!
Look at us getting all fancy. You can now find us at caninecollective.nz — along with Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. Basically, if you don’t already see enough photos and videos of your dog… we can fix that.
And that’s it for this sniff
A genuine thank you. We know you have choices about who you trust with your dogs, and we never take it for granted that you choose us. Watching them come through the gate, make friends, grow in confidence and become part of our slightly chaotic daycare family is a pretty special way to spend our days. Thank you for trusting us with them and for supporting Canine Collective. Louise & Mike — Real Dogs. Real Fun.
